facilities
We are fortunate to be located in the foothills of the White Mountains with acres of flat fields and a location on the eastern shore of Upper Baker Pond, a 166 acre pond in a secluded setting at the base of 2,909' Mount Cube. We have over 400 feet of waterfront on Upper Baker Pond, along with 16 acres of land. We invite you to tour the camp in this video and explore our 3 main areas, listed below . . .

WATERFRONT
400 feet of waterfront include a sandy beach, Y dock, I docks, 3 floats, 4 swimming lanes, 3 slides, waterskiing platform. We have a fleet of 12 canoes, two 4-man crew boats, 2 single, 4 RS Zest sailboats , 6 paddleboards and 2 competition Ski Nautique speedboats used for waterskiing, wakeboarding and tubing. The waterfront is the scene for many a hot summer's day dip, swimming & boating races, games and lake-crossing expeditions; all accompanied by the tranquil sounds of nature or the hoot and hollers from supportive campers and staff encouraging a beginner waterskier standing up for the first time!
FIELDS
Our well-manicured 12 acres of fields provide plenty of space for the girls to spread out and enjoy land sports such as soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, golf and softball. Adjacent to our fields we have a 40' high climbing wall, 250' long zip line, basketball court, archery range, 6 tennis courts (2 are lit for night play), horse stables and riding rings, and a gymnastics pavilion.
CABINS
There are 14 spacious and clean sleeping cabins adjacent to the waterfront. These wood framed cabins are equipped with cots and 12” mattresses, plenty of storage for belongings, toilets, and sinks with hot & cold running water. All cabins have electricity, hard-wired smoke detectors, screens, glass windows, curtains and doors. Two or three staff members live in each cabin with at least one member on duty every night. The girls are responsible for keeping their cabins tidy, but we also hire a professional cleaning staff to clean the bathroom toilets and sinks each day. In addition to sleeping cabins, we have a nearby dining hall, library, playhouse, gymnasium, shower house, and arts & crafts buildings.
“I cannot imagine my girls not having this experience. Merriwood is the most special place.”
“I believe the girls, in this camp atmosphere, gain a real sense of empathy and repect for others in their camp community and beyond.”
“Every girl at camp cheers for, encourages, supports every other girl at camp.”
