Our staff is comprised of mature energetic women with at least one year of college, or the equivalent. Staff are chosen for their skill in one or more of our program areas, as well as their caring, motivational attributes.

Staff live with a co-counselor in the annex of a cabin which houses 10-12 girls. Every cabin has bathrooms with hot and cold running water. A separate shower house is just feet away. All cabins are wood framed and have glass windows, screens, curtains and electricity!

Realize this opportunity is a great resume builder for education, physical education, outdoor and recreation majors and child psychology! As directors, we are open to working with your school to gain college credit.

Salaries at Camp Merriwood are based on age, experience, education and ability level and are some of the highest in the camping industry.

The staff is mature, energetic, and caring. Some senior members have been with the Millers for more than thirty years. Counselors are chosen for their talent in their activity as well as exhibiting a caring, supportive attitude toward children. They come from colleges throughout the United States. About 25% of the staff are from foreign countries. The camper-counselor rate is 3.5 to 1. Heads of major activities are teachers and coaches with strong leadership skills and experience, and many have been with us for years.
